Dave Gross (gdg, to you) astonishes, balancing the razor's
edge of tiny, razor-sharp sounds, treating his saxophones
as metal sounding tubes or, perhaps, even physical razors.
Dave Curry appears with the Empty House Cooperative, whose
flexible ensemble combines our shared experimental approach
to improvisation with elements from ambient and popular musics.
Dave Bryant attacks from the free-jazz direction, informed by his
experience with Ornette Coleman's Prime Time and work with
a slew of Boston improvising greats.

Dear DMC:
ReplyDeleteWhy not add David Grubbs to your improv event? Then it could be "Dave, Dave, Dave and David." Sadly, I'm committed to seeing Vashti Bunyan in Brooklyn. But I don't think he is, so he'd be available.
Give it to those New Yorkers, man. Sideways.
